Upright Vacuum Cleaners-The
Standard
Upright vacuum cleaners are the most popular and most common
vacuum cleaners that are used today. They
are in almost every home in every
developed country throughout the world. Because of this
virtually everyone knows how to work an upright vacuum
cleaner. They have advantages compared to canister
vacuum cleaners in that upright vacuum
cleaners work well on wall-to-wall carpet where canister
vacuums do not. Upright vacuum cleaners are also easier
to find and generally less expensive. All of the major
retail chains and many of the discount retailers carry upright
vacuum cleaners in many different brands, styles, and colors,
but it is difficult to find canister vacuum cleaners at these
stores. If these vacuums sold as well as the upright
vacuum cleaners the stores would stock more of them, but they
are not as popular and are not thought to have as many
features.
Another reason that upright vacuum cleaners are so popular
is because they have been marketed for such a long period of
time and they work better for traditional applications than
other types of vacuum cleaners. The upright vacuum
cleaner has also seen many changes in recent years with the
advent of the Hepa filter, companies that make very lightweight
upright vacuums, stick vacuums, cyclonic uprights that do not
lose suction, bagless models, and other types and styles.
These changes have come from some of the most popular companies
including Hoover, Dyson,
Eureka, Bissell, Dirt
Devil, and others. Vacuum cleaner companies that do
not keep up with these kinds of changes soon find themselves
falling behind the times and see that their profits and slowly
dwindling. The only way for companies that make and
market upright vacuum cleaners to continue to grow is through
the creation of new and better products with more of the
features that consumers want and need. It seems as though
these things are being provided by the main providers of
upright vacuum cleaners today because they remain extremely
popular, largely because they are easy to use and can perform
all of the functions that most consumers need in a vacuum
cleaner. For consumers that need more features or other
types of cleaners, there are different types of vacuums on the
market.
Where the upright vacuum cleaner is concerned there are both
good and bad features and opinions. Overall, the upright
vacuum cleaner is the most popular, but there are some
consumers that would not purchase one, and this generally
depends on what they will be using the vacuum cleaner
for. Homes or businesses that have hard floors and/or
large staircases often do not purchase upright vacuum cleaners
because they are not practical for these types of
applications. Canister
vacuum cleaners work better in those instances. For
most homes, however, the upright vacuum cleaner is what is
needed. Not only does it perform well on wall-to-wall
carpeting but it also has many different attachments that can
be used for baseboards, couches and other furniture, air
conditioning and heating vents, and other applications.
This makes it much more versatile overall than the canister
vacuums that it competes
with.
